Volunteer Overseas
Travel Volunteers work alongside local Overseas Volunteer Partners to deliver bedkits directly to children in need. Volunteers cover 100% of their own travel expenses without a tax receipt. Key responsibilities include:
Distribution & Quality: Verifying that bedkits reach children in need, inspecting item quality, and reviewing financial records.
Cultural Respect: Approaching communities with humility, by learning, listening, and honoring local cultures, histories, and preserving the dignity of each child.
Community Connection: Observing bedkit impact through family conversations, visiting local manufacturers, and following strict photography policies.
Volunteer Locally (Toronto Office)
Based in Toronto’s west end, office volunteers support day-to-day operations by processing donations, mailing tax receipts and photos, and contributing to special project committees. New volunteers are always welcome.
Other Ways to Get Involved
Host a Speaker: Invite a SCAW representative to present at your school, church, service club, or corporate event.
Plan a “Sleep Day”: Organize an awareness and fundraising event for your school or community group.
