Our Travelling Team

When you live, eat, and travel with people for three weeks and depend on them you get to know them well.

Tom Belton, our fantastic team leader, came with the experience, knowledge, and the organization needed to be successful in our trip. Tom provided a wonderful experience for the team, while maintaining Murray's visions and dreams. He cared about the team, their opinions, and stories, and wanted to making sure that all 6,000 children had a smile.

Andy Greiner is a question asker, and does not forget the answer. He seems to enjoy the SCAW process from the start of the distribution in Toronto, to the finish overseas. Andy fit in very well with the hosts, and had a genuine interest in their lives and their work. He also has a great ability at remembering very difficult Indian names and foods.

Kathy Greiner also enjoyed the social aspect of the distribution, fitting in wherever we were. She worked hard, and focused very well on each job she was given. She is a fun team player, and seemed to enjoy the action happening around her. Kathy was well liked by our hosts and found it easy to engage in conversations with anyone. She was always the first one willing to try something new, such as the foods and other customs and she was the most striking of all of us when dressed up in her sari.

I enjoyed meeting Jeff. He is a listener and when he speaks he always has something valuable to say. Jeff is fun and willing to do and go just about anywhere. As our main photographer, he paid attention to detail and was always able to catch something out of place. Jeff easily engaged the children and you could see his passion for them while always keeping his own family close to heart. He has the qualities to make a great team leader with his obvious compassion for the children, his ability to organize, and his fun personality.

Mary-Jo is difficult to summarize. I had the pleasure of travelling with her to Africa and was thrilled to have the opportunity to be with her again. She is kind, smart, energetic, and has a great sense of humor. Whether you are doing a distribution, playing with the children, walking, sleeping in a train, or shopping, she always does it 100%. I feel lucky to be Mary-Jo's friend and travel buddy.
