DID YOU KNOW?

"Murray's Dream Team" is a committee of passionate volunteers who are
responsible for looking at all segments that donate to SCAW. In the
past, we have had wonderful support from Churches, Schools, and Clubs.
However, one of the largest areas of giving is from Individuals!

This segment of donations to SCAW remains one of the largest year by
year. An important emerging trend within the "Individual" segment is
what can be termed as "Occasion Giving." As we look at why individuals
are giving to SCAW, the largest area of growth is in honour of an
event, a person, or a significant date in the life of a family member
or friend.

For years, we have had donations "In Memory of" a person who has
passed away. At Christmas time, we are deluged with donations wishing
"Merry Christmas" to a family member or friend. "Happy Birthday" and
"Happy Anniversary" messages on our labels are increasing in number.
If you are like myself and my family, we already have enough "stuff"
and are looking for ways to make a difference in a needy child's life
by making a donation in honour of an event or in honour of a person to
whom we are or have been close. We have seen "Happy Easter," "Happy
Hanukkah," Happy Thanksgiving," "Happy Valentine's Day," "Thank You,"
and we are beginning to see different labels as a result of various
ethnic groups becoming aware of SCAW. We have even seen labels for
"Go, Leafs, Go!" As you can imagine, the variations are limitless!

Sleeping Children Around the World grows year by year through
word-of-mouth. The budget for "Murray's Dream Team" (the marketing
committee) is Zero! With your help, we will continue to tell the SCAW
story and to suggest to our family and friends that we can make a
difference by donating to SCAW. It's a WIN, WIN, WIN situation. You
feel good by making a donation; a needy child receives a "Gift of
Love;" and the person you are honouring through your gift to SCAW
receives a wonderful gift surprise!
